Gary Wright, Pastor of Grace Assembly

Born and raised in Livingston, TX, Pastor Gary Wright felt the call of God on his life at early age. He loved the church and he especially loved doing God’s work. Because of his love for God, he made himself available for whatever need arose in the church. Even at an early age, Pastor Gary humbled himself as a servant of God and would do anything from cleaning the church to teaching Sunday school.

Pastor Gary felt the call to preach around 19; however, nothing seemed to transpire. Yet, he continued doing ministry work in his church, without complaint, because he would wait on the Lord to fulfill his life plans.

Then it happened.

On February 4, 2002, Pastor Gary and his partner, J.R. Cook opened the doors of Grace Assembly in Livingston, TX. For over 6 years, Pastor Gary ministered to the GLBT community in a small town north of Houston. However, God began to call Pastor Gary to Houston. Therefore, in October 2008, Grace Assembly-Livingston closed its doors. After taking a sabbatical, Pastor Gary reopened Grace Assembly in Houston, TX on May 2, 2010.

Pastor Gary has been with his partner, J.R. Cook, for nearly 12 years. They will celebrate an anniversary in November.
